Video software

Overview

Thomas Telandro (PHONONS/Tokyo) combines his artistic and technical skills (PhD studies in Signal Processing) to develop a real-time video software intended to integrate visual arts into our music events. This live-performance tool interracts with other devices through MIDI, OSC and real-time sound analysis so as to create a global audio-visual concept; it generates sound-responsive animations from its digital and audio inputs. Our cross-platform application (MAC & PC) is specifically developed to be controlled via the Native Instruments Maschine® MIDI Controller.

Architecture

The PHONONS state-of-the-art application is developped with openFrameworks, an open source C++ toolkit for creative coding.

Setup

The system setup is based on a computer running the phonons.app application. An example is illustrated in the following diagram.
